Money is a system

Money looks like numbers, but underneath it's a system: ledgers, rules, records and the processes that move value from one place to another. When that system works, nobody notices it. When it doesn't, nothing else matters much.

Plumbing first

The most useful financial technology is often the least exciting. It reconciles accounts, keeps clean records, flags what looks wrong, and makes sure every entry can be traced back to where it came from. Those are the habits of a good bookkeeper, written down as software.

Built to be trusted

Anything that touches money has to earn trust slowly and can lose it quickly. That means security from the start, clear records, and being honest about what a system does and doesn't do.

This field is about building those quieter systems with the same care as everything else at Harrow.
